BIOKOVO

When you stay at Villa Yanko, you can combine the sea and the mountains and have an unforgettable vacation. Biokovo is an inexhaustible source of activity. You can book directly at https://www.makarskarivieravillayanko.com. But please wear good walking shoes!

Biokovo is a mountain range of the Dinarides with the peak Sveti Jure (1762 m) as the second-largest peak in Croatia. This mountain range can be seen in three logical units:

1. The north-western part of these mountains consists of the peaks Šćirovac (1619 m), Sveti Ilija (1642 m), Veliki Šibenik (1467 m), Sveti Jure (1762 m), Vošac (1421 m), and Kimet (1556 m). This landscaped area is karst-free with wooded parts only in sinkholes, so it can be disastrous for hiking in the summer months, especially due to lack of water. Almost all the peaks of Biokovo are difficult to access, demanding, and time-consuming and there is almost no possibility of water supply in the mountains. No ascent to these peaks is to be underestimated. Wear 4-5 liters of water in summer (IMPORTANT).

2. The southeastern part of these mountains is also called Rilić and consists of the peaks Sutvid (1155 m), Sokolić (788 m), and Sveti Ilija (773 m). The basic feature of these three peaks is that they have built paths almost all the way to the top. In the past, trade routes into the hinterland followed these routes. Do not underestimate the ascent to these peaks in the summer months and take enough water with you. All climbs run almost exclusively through karst fruit or small macchia, which cannot offer any protection from the sun.

3. Zabiokovlje is basically the Matokit mountain with the highest peak Sveti Rok (1062 m)

Villa Yanko is an homage to ultramodern design, with four bedrooms looking across the Adriatic to islands Hvar and Brac. Just above lovely Tucepi, with its seafront tavernas and beach, the property has four sea-view bedrooms, each with its own bathroom ensuite. A kid’s pool off the main one is a bonus for toddlers, likewise a little play park, playground, and a garden offering natural shade.

Villa Yanko is situated in Tucepi, one of the most famous tourist destinations of the Makarska Riviera. This part of Dalmatia is known for its crystal clear sea and for kilometers of beautiful pebble beaches, which are known to be one of the most beautiful beaches in Croatia. Villa Yanko is the perfect starting point to explore some of the natural beauties of that region. And those who are more into sightseeing or nightlife, will not be disappointed as some of the most beautiful islands of Hvar and Brač are easy to reach from there.
